From airport to hotel in Porto
The international Porto Airport (OPO) is located 12 kilometers northwest of the city center and is also known as Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport. To get from the airport to your hotel in the center of Porto, you have four options for a Porto airport transfer:
Option 1: Metro to city center
Metro: You can easily travel between the airport and the city center with the metro. Metro line E (purple) runs every 20 to 30 minutes from Porto airport to the 'Trindade' stop in the center of Porto (at Trindade you can change to different metro lines such as metro line D that stops for example at São Bento Station or Vila Nova de Gaia). The total journey will take just under half an hour and tickets (Z4) will only cost € 2.75. You can easily buy tickets (Z4) from the vending machines at the airport or metro station. Please note that you also have to stamp your tickets at the yellow machines before you board the metro (more info and route planner).
Porto Card: Are you planning to travel a lot with the metro or public transport? As a tourist you can also buy this Porto Card (1 to 4 days), which, in addition to free public transport by metro, also get access to 6 museums and discounts on many other attractions (Book your Porto Card online in advance). Please note if the pick-up times at Porto airport are compatible with your travel schedule.
Option 2: Taxi from airport
Taxi: A taxi from Porto Airport takes an average of 20 minutes to reach your hotel in the center. Opposite the arrivals terminal you will find a taxi rank and an average fare costs about 30 euros.
Book a taxi transfer at the airport

Option 3: Bus from Porto airport
Bus: Due to the excellent and cheap metro connection, the bus is a less obvious option from Porto airport. Bus companies STCP and Resende do offer bus connections from the airport to different parts of Porto city. GetBUS has bus lines to cities like Braga and Guimarães.
Option 4: Rental car
